I agree with the people that say to zap the PRAM (Cmd-Opt-P-R) and you should also reset the NVRAM defaults by booting into Open Firmware (Cmd-Opt-O-F) and then typing:
set-defaults<Return>
reset-all<Return>
(where<Return> is hitting the Return key, the reply should be "OK" to the first command, and a reboot to the second.

One person remarked on having to zap the PRAM ten times. I've seen it zapped more than 10 without actually clearing the PRAM. If you aren't connected to the internet via cable modem or dsl with the "use network time server" option (which will reset your time as soon as the network is detected), your computers time & date should reset on a real PRAM zap, and if it doesn't the PRAM wasn't reset. Unique to the BeigeG3's is an issue with the power supply holding residual charge. Even pulling out the PRAM battery will often not clear the PRAM. If you can't get the computer rebooted with the PRAM & NVRAM resets, you'll need to open the unit and pull the PRAM battery & the power supply to motherboard cable and then press the CUDA reset button. Wait a few minute, press the CUDA again, and reassemble.

Another issue is that some Beige units won't boot OS X from a slave drive, so if you have either the CD and the HD set as slave, you'd better change then both to master and use any slave for OS 9 only. There is also the 8GB limitation to consider for OS X. This can be overcome by using XPostFacto's 'helper' drive to boot any size drive on any bus including the internal ATA as long as you have a 'helper' drive of less than 8 GB (can be very small, perhaps even a few hundred MB).

Also, if you're reinstalling Jaguar you probably should upgrade to 10.2.6 and stop. There is a known issue with the video display and the PCI bus using 10.2.8-10.3.5. If the PCI bus is very busy the screen can go black and the System can freeze solid with the HDs spinning down and data being corrupted. You can read the Apple KB article here:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25564
Their solution of deleting a certain ATI bundle may work for you, but it didn't on my Rev.B & Rev.C running Panther. I'd strongly suggest stopping at 10.2.6 (or read how to mod your molar with a Radeon card and forge ahead:http://www.shanecurd.com/projects/aio.htm)

Good luck! Kris
