Jerry, I have zeroed several in Panther. The largest was a 120 GB and it took about 6 hours. For your situation, 70 hours is too long and I would say that something ain't right! I did a 2 GB and it took about 1.5 hours. The drive may have hung so start it again and see what happens. Force quit the disk utility app and restart then try again. (You probably already have)

Im any case, I would say with confidence that the "zeroing" has failed and should be retried.
