As for cheap DVD burners. I'm very happy with the Sony DRU-710A. I picked it up for $119 after rebates at Best Buy. 16x DVD write, DVD+ and DVD- support, dual-layer burning, 40x CD burning and is C key bootable in my Sawtooth. Oh, it comes with both a white and black face plate, that you can take the door cover off, so it fits perfectly behind the swing door on my Sawtooth(my old CD-R used to prop the door open.)
I did have to use the patchburn utility (available via xlr8yourmac.com) to make it useable from inside the finder and iTunes, but works great. Toast had no problems, except that anything before Toast 6.0.7 will only let it burn at 8x and not 16x.

I have a QS 867. I am still a Mac n00b, so bear with me. I think it has a
DVD drive in it, I just pulled up it's specs at apple.com:

and it looks like it has a SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW).
Will this burn DVD's?
If not, is there an inexpensive DVD-RW drive that fits in this machine nicely without a bunch of hacking?
If not, can you recommend an inexpensive external DVD-RW drive for me?
I'm running OSX 10.3.
Thanks.
