I believe you stated the CPU you installed was a 266 MHz from a Beige G3. Set your bus speed to 66MHz and the CPU to 266MHz. Don't over clock it and re-try. It is possible the overcloced CPU is giving you greif. When you have any problem, whether it appears to be CPU related or not, always back off your overclocking.
