So, you got bad RAM, were issued an RMA and didn't ship it correctly. Given that OWC gave you an RMA, what is your point?

I got bad Ram from OWC In woodstock, IL. I called and got a RMA and sent it back to OWC. But by mistake it got dropped into Fed-Ex box without a proper shipping # but had OWC address and my return address on the package and it just disappeared I called Fed-Ex US Mail OWC but no one knew anything so that was the last time I dealt with OWC.

Hi Mike,

Sure is amazing that someone trying to do the right thing, like you did, should get treated like dirt for it. I got bad RAM from OWC once myself, but it worked fine for a year in my G-4 under OS 9 until I finally tried to upgrade to X, which won't tolerate the slightest defect in RAM and refused the install until I identified and removed the chip, a 512. I think RAM is sold with a "lifetime warranty," but by then I had lost the receipt from OWC so I was stuck with it. It's still sitting here in a drawer. I bought a good stick from somebody else.

You can get good service from OWC depending on who you work with there and what kind of a mood they're in that day. Otherwise you can spend ten thousand dollars with them and they'll act like they never heard of you.

Take care,

Tom

If the ram has a lifetime warranty, look up the manufacturer and exchange it. If it's OWC branded, contact them. If it's PNY, DataMem, etc, contact them. I've never had to show a receipt for something with a lifetime warranty. Make sure when you call whoever, you are polite. Start the conversation in an argumentative mood, all you'll get is angry back at you.
