Anybody here ever transplanted a 5400 or 5500 mobo into a 52xx series case?
What kinds of mods are necessary? Recommendations?
Pax,
I have accomplished this task several times. It's a good way to breath new life into an old machine. Just pull the motherboard and swap. Everything is on the mobo. It just slides in and out. Drawback.... MAX ram is 136, not sure what the max size hard drive would be, but on the brighter side they use the cheaper IDE/ATA drives. Parts should be very reasonable, and you can equip these units with internal modems or ethernet and USB with use of angle adapter.
