I have inserted the cd and hit the letter c when booting to load the cd nothing.
Apple says this machine will work all the way up to 10.2.8
I am really upset as this is suppose to be a gift for my Girlfriend. All the software I want
to load on it requires 10.1 or above which like I said will not install.

I doubt 2 gigs is anything near enough for an install of OS 10.1. As for not
booting from the CD. Just insert the CD and select it as the startup drive.

Both the Hard Drive and CDrom are set to masters on two seperate Controller
Cables. One for the Hard Drive one for the CDrom.
Also the drive is only a 4 gig drive that is partitioned in 2 2gig
partitions.
