The OS X I have is a Cd not DVD so that is not the issue. Next I am out of work
I did some trading to get this machine. Thanks to outsourcing I am out of work.

Anyways This machine Will run 9.2.2 fine how ever I can not find enough stuff to run on it
and especially Open Source stuff , Open Office for one, Gimp for another. All require OS X.
Not to mention about 17 other things I want to load on this for my GirlFriend.

It's just becoming more of a painfull task then I feel it is worth. Nothing has gone right.
Not to mention I have even taken the time to custom Paint this thing and now it seems to be
for a huge loss.

Also when I try to look up applications for OS 9 I seem to run into very little if anything.
I can't get it to play streaming Internet Radio and the app I want to use so it will play
is again wanting OS X.

For the life of me I can not understand why Apple if supporting the OS on these machines makes
it such a huge pain in the rear.

I guess I will just have to load Linux on this thing.

Welcome to G3 OS X hell! I have a Minitower and I can't install OS 10.2. I
did have success with XPostFacto with 10.1 so why don't you try that. Print
out the manual and read it a few times. I trashed it because it was so
danged slow! (And yes, I have 448 MB of ram and a Sonnet 800 mhz upgrade, so
it should work!)

Oh you know you might have a DVD OS X disk! That was my first problem. Then
I got a DVD drive and successfully installed OS X.1 with XPostFacto

http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/Framework.cfm

never never never straight with OS X. Could never figure out why.

My latest OS X adventure was to get an OWC DVR-106 (thank you dear hubby for
Christmas) and install it as the master, and all I get out of it is a gray
screen with what looks like an underline character in the upper left hand
corner, and that's IT even after an hour of waiting. When I have a little
bit of time I may try XPostFacto again, this time with 10.2.3, which I
bought (already tried it a few times and it didn't work).

I'm only wanting OS X for the prettiness of it, I have way too many OS 9
apps I use that I will NOT spend tons-o-money to upgrade all of my software!
I'm happy as anything with 9.2.2 actually. Don't trash that wonderful G3!!
Runs 9.2.2 like a trooper! And nice fast ZIF upgrades are getting cheaper
every day! I paid $250 for a Sonnet 800 mhz on ebay, unopened, new in box.
Extraordinarily thrilled with it. 256 MB of RAM is now $25 at OWC
(macsales.com).

Good luck!
