Satellite? Fuggedboutit. That's winders-only. Bruce Johnson
Normally I admire your posts for their accuracy, wit and informed nature, Bruce, but your above statement is dead wrong, and has been for more than a year. I'm sending this via a two-way Direcway DW6000 satellite broadband modem connection. I've been using it to get online with a mixture of Macs and PCs for more than a year. You might want to surf on over to
http://www.direcway.com and find out what you've been missing. Interestingly, I find web surfing slightly faster via Direcway with Macs (OS9 and OSX) than with a PC. I documented this recently when I ran beta test downloads for the DW6000 Beta Test manager. I share your view of DSL (same spotty service pattern here in Eureka, CA via SBC) and cable (yup, very pricey even if it is fast and you have to buy stuff you don't want). My always-on satellite connection requires no second phone line and I'm more
than satisfied with download speeds and service stability. 'Nuff said. Check it out.
