Spending many hundreds of dollars (more than a few, unless you're pirating) for professional word processor, spreadsheet, and database packages for home use makes no sense at all for most of us.
The Student/ Teacher version of Office is about 129 and comes with 3 licenses for home machines. Are you a student (full or part time)? Do you have a child in school (pre K to graduate student)? Are you or someone in your house a teacher? Then you qualify for this version.

You can walk into and computer store (or mail order from any computer company) and buy the Education version of office without showing any education ID. When you install it the "click through" license agreement asks you if you are qualified to use this version.
