I've known it to take up to 36 hours (over a day) for people to install OS X on their XBox (hacked), although granted they probably didn't click in an 'ok' dialog box for a bit :-P

I remember we used to use Executor, a Mac emulator in the IBM Aptiva A40 we had then (in 1996) [a very problematic PC indeed]. Does anyone remember that? Is there anything like that available these days?
yes, two things: Basilisk, a Mac OS emulator, and PearPC, a PPC
emulator on which you can load OS X and OS 9 (iirc in the case of OS 9)
That way you can find out just how GOOD VPC is...PearPC+OS X runs like
a 60MHz PPC on a 2 Ghz intel...
Wow, is it THAT bad, then I shouldn't even try anything on this 433MHZ PC I
guess :-\
I exaggerate, but yeah, it'll run like molasses in January on your 433. When people first reported it, they told of boot times for the OS X installer of 20-30 minutes.
Not an exaggeration though, it would run that slow if you really tried to do much with it.
