Is there anything like that available these days?

yes, two things: Basilisk, a Mac OS emulator, and PearPC, a PPC emulator on which you can load OS X and OS 9 (iirc in the case of OS 9)

That way you can find out just how GOOD VPC is...PearPC+OS X runs like

a 60MHz PPC on a 2 Ghz intel...

Anybody here ever run Mac-on-Linux on OS X? I know it compiles, but I haven't until today had a machine on which it can install, and on this system I have only one drive with an 8.4GB drive, so I don't have much in the way of extra space to test. :/
