I see Micro$oft disabling VPC booting into anything other than their own drappy OS...
It would be difficult for MS to do this; VPC is not a Windows emulator, it's an PC emulator.
M$ has all the code and may do what they want to the VPC app. It isn't difficult for them to do it from any perspective, be it marketing or practicality. ---
This is the difference between the old SoftWindows and Virtual PC.
I know, I've run them all since version 1. ---
SoftWindows WAS a Windows emulator; it worked at a much higher
level than VPC (or all the other emulators, like BOCHS), which emulates the raw hardware.
Not quite, a fully licenced version of Windoze shipped with SoftWindows, it's just that the app was built around running Windoze as opposed to emulating a PC. ---
There would also be howls of outrage form their user base.
And ?!
Since when did they care ?!
