Im not familiar with all that but it should by all means work.  I originally 
had a 266MHz/512 in my beige and had no problem putting in a 350/1MB.  And the 
350 came out of a blue and white.  Your 450 came out of a blue and white and 
its being put into one.  Did you put thermal grease between the heatsink and 
processor?  Where did you get the processor from?
