OK, so which computer are you planning on upgrading, the one for digital photography? If you plan on running OS X and using PhotoShop, Id say go with the G4. Maybe someone else has direct experience, but OS X and PhotoShop, as well as other multimedia programs, like sound editing, make good use of the G4 processor. If youre using for the internet, word processing, storing documents, or playing games, Id say go with the G3. Some games may make good use of the G4 not really sure on that one.
