Any IDE drive should work. There /may/ be some problems with booting from
the drive and getting the Apple software to see it as a burner (if you go
that route). The burner part can be fixed with patchburn (google for it).

Myself, I dropped a LiteOn combo drive into my B&W and it works fine for
booting. Burning CD's was fixed with pathburn.

As I understand it, the onboard IDE controller doesn't see anything beyond
128 GB. I believe a third party IDE controller doesn't have that
limitation. External drives may or may not have that problem, I've
received conflicting information on that.

PCI. The fastest PCI card I've seen for the B&W is a Radeon 9200, at
least, that one is the most common.

I know that some of the earlier ZIF upgrades would drop your front side
bus dwon from 100 to 66, but I don't know if that is still the case.

Are they worth it? Depends on the cost. To me, most of them, while it
would be really cool to have a 1 GHz+ B&W, for the cost, I may as well
wait a bit and pick up a sawtooth and get the better system.

Of course, YMMV. What works for me may not for you or anyone else.
