I recently bought a B&W which basically runs well. But I am puzzled
about a few things. Can you help?
1. CD Drawer. I can't find any keyboard combo that will OPEN this
door, Command-E will close it. The only way I've found to open it
is by pressing the silver button on the door quite hard and often
that takes repeated pressings. The KB I'm using is a new Apple USB,
black, smaller than the old standard Apple issue, looks like one
that came with early iMacs.
F12, iirc, should do it. I have the same keyboard on my G4 at home,
but not here, so I'm not sure.
2. Burning. I'm running OS 922. Is there any system software for CD
burning? (I can't locate it.) Would Toast 6 work?
If your CDRW is supported, just sticking in a Blank cd should start
the prompts.

If your CDRW is not supported, see <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com>;
hacked drivers may be available.
For Audio CD burning, iTunes will work.
3. Sleep. The sleep dialog seems to put the system to bye byes OK
(the monitor goes black and the HD sounds like it winding down.)
But the fan in the B&W does not seem to go off; I've left it in
sleep mode for several hours but the fan has never gone off and I
think that it shouldn't take that long to cool down.
The fan in the B&W is not under system control, I don't think. It
just runs.
4, Memory. I put in two sticks of PC133 RAM 256k apiece. However
the Mac only recognizes 32k from each of these. The original RAM in
there is a 128k PC133 and it registers the full amount. Anything I
can do here?
I'd say that RAM was way out of spec. put in stuff known to work with
the B&W.
