Hello everyone. Recently bought an old beige PowerMac G3/300
desktop. According to the system profiler, the ROM revision is $77D.
45F2 (which corresponds to Rev. 3 according to the LEM page on this
model), it is equipped with 192MB of RAM, and is currently running
OS 9.2.2. I am attempting to install OS X 10.2, but whenever I
click the Restart button shown in the splash screen, I get the
following error: "Startup Disk was unable to select the install CD
as the startup disk. (-2)". LEM's page on this model series states
that the beige G3/300 cannot boot from the CD-ROM drive unless the
jumper is set to master; I checked the jumpers, and it was already
set as such. Any ideas as to why I would still be getting this sort
of error, even if all the proper criteria seemed to have been met?

A thought:
Its a full "Universal" install CD and not a restore/install CD for a
particular model correct?
