What I have done in the past with emails that I wish to save is just select the
ones I want to save them locally in an archive....I can't tell you what format
as I'm using the PC at work right now and don't have access to my Mac.....but I
can tell you that with Tiger, you can search the archives and find anything you
need, you just need to know 'what' you're looking for. Like I had a lot of
product registrations saved in one of these archives. I knew the name of the
app, typed it into spotlight and it found it in the archive (within seconds, I
might add).
Also, you can use Entourage, not Outlook on the Mac.....I use it on rare
occasions (I don't like some of it's 'features') but I don't believe that it
has the ability to archive any better than you can from the OS X mail app (I
could be wrong).
