As long as the package says the card is OHCI compliant, it should work in your Mac, regardless of what the box states are the system requirements. I have 3 that were not labeled Mac compatible that are working fine in various beiges in both 10.2 and 9.2. All cards were purchased for under $10, either at the local compusa or off of the swap list.

You may be able to get a USB2 card for just slightly more.
