I have overclocked my Radeon 9200 with a program called Graphiccelerator.
This program used to be called ATIcelerator, and has been replaced by
ATIcelerator II. However, I have found ATIcelerator to cause the program I
most use
to freeze. I have also been told it causes Tiger to freeze. So, Id
recommend Graphiccelerator since it has worked flawlessly.
Anyway, stock settings were 250MHz GPU and 200MHz memory. First new
setting I tried was 275MHz and 210MHz. It works great and I havent tried
anything
past that. X plane does seem, oh, 5 percent faster, maybe 10. Well, is
there a benchmarking utility for video cards for OS X?
One last question. According to ATIs website, the Mac PCI version of the
Radeon 9200 has 200MHz memory, while the PC AGP version has 400MHz memory.
And I am using a PC card flashed to work in a Mac. I have searched the
interney for overclocking PC 9200s, and it seems there are several versions,
but
noone seemed to have one with 400MHz memory. Maybe I should call ATI?
