Not sure how to quantify that, but with no serial ports to go with the ImageWriter, you will need some hardware. Probably the easiest and cheapest would be to dig up an old Mac such as a 7200 (probably find one for close to free) and use it as a "shared printer" host. Plug the ImageWriter into that machine, connect the 7200 to your ethernet network, enable printer sharing, make sure the ImageWriter is available in the Chooser of each of the iMacs, and go to work.
