Hi Scott,

I don't have a dual cpu Mac (Green with envy!!!), so I can't give an exact comparison. I do have a wintel server dual P3-700 machine and benchmark programs have rated it around 1000 to 1200 mHz. I suspect a lot depends on the OS and the programs you happen to be running. FWIW... I have a B&W with a G4-450 and it seems almost as fast as the server box or my P3-1000 workstation. The only place I see any real difference is running Seti Boinc. (The wintels mostly spend their time crunching Seti units or serving up music and video files over the network.)

Hey, G-Listers!
I have a hypothetical question for the collective genius out there. Let's say you have a dual processor 1 ghz G4 computer, what speed of a single processor in a comparable computer would it take to exceed the dual processor performance? I'm guessing that it has something to do with which programs your running. . .? Thanking you for your input in advance.
