When I put a Pioneer DVR-110D into the enclosure and plug it into my B & W
(OS 10.3.9) the DVR-110D would not mount CD's. System profiler listed a
"FireWire Device" with no specifics about the DVR-100D. Same thing happened when
I
plugged it into my G4 Sawtooth.

Try downloading Patchburn and see if using it helps the computer recognize the
drive.

I have a DVR-109 in a firewire box and Patchburn worked in Jaguar for me. Now
in Tiger, the 109 seems to be fully supported by the operating system, but I
don't know about the 110.

A good place for information about this kind of thing is the XLR8yourmac
website.

See, for example:

Hope this helps.
