Patchburn 4 (for Tiger) is free and quick and undoable and might help.
I am still not totally satisfied with my dvr-109, by the way, even though it is supported in Tiger. If I try to copy a dvd from my firewire drive (a dvr-104) I get errors and make a frisbee. But if I go the other way, 109 to 104, it works fine. Might just be a problem with read speeds...the 109 is much faster and might not like waiting for the other drive. Still... Good luck with this.
