Try downloading Patchburn and see if using it helps the computer recognize the
drive.

I have a DVR-109 in a firewire box and Patchburn worked in Jaguar for me. Now
in Tiger, the 109 seems to be fully supported by the operating system, but I
don't
know about the 110.

A good place for information about this kind of thing is the XLR8yourmac
website.

Richard, thanks for the reply.

I have put trouble shooting the enclosure on hold for now and installed the
DVR-110D in the B & W. The drive works OK with Toast 5 in the B & W. I suspect
the enclosure is the problem.

FYI, the DVR-110D is physically shorter than the optical drives that shipped
with the B & W and the G4's so I had to leave off the back metal shielding in
order to connect the data and power cables. OTOH, The Pioneer DVR-108 I have
in the Sawtooth fits perfectly with shielding intact.

Excellent suggestion. Usually I try to figure the problem out myself but it
is starting to look like the enclosure is the problem. I will contact them soon
and report back if I learn anything relevant.
