On 9 I could batch change file type by simply dragging a folder over
Typeshuffler or control clicking a whole set of files and choose
change file type from my contextual menu. I am miffed as to how to do
this in X. In X I can change each file to "open with" from the get
info but a batch of them? Must be able to be done. I must say, I
don't even know if X has file and creator codes any more! But it is
the practical business of ensuring that, e.g., my old BBEdit files
should now all open in TextWrangler. It is very time consuming doing
each file individually.
My mind is filled with dumb qs like this. Maybe I should ask on some
NG or other list, any recommendations please? Or maybe you folks
don't mind seeing the humiliating sight of a formerly confident Mac
person thrashing about... :)
