FWIW, I just discovered that Adobe offers free 30-day trials of many
of its products. I haven't used Photoshop here at home in years -
usually it's just a tool on a client's machine on-site. So I'm
downloading the Photoshop tryout right now. Big! 300+ MB. But then
I can see if I can reproduce any of the problems you're having,
instead of poking blindly. :)
