Didn't I see someone recently have the same problem I do right now,
viz: I have a Quicksilver running X that can boot back into 9, but the
key on the keyboard that opens the CD/DVD tray in X doesn't work in 9.
And unlike my last G4. this one doesn't have a button on the tower to
open it. So, just how do you get the tray open on the tower when in 9?
Didn't I see someone offer a solution to this recently? What was it?

Thanks,

Tom

There are a couple of ways. Try "eject key" from Griffin:
http://www.griffintechnology.com/software/software_imate.html

Or open up itunes and use the eject button.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm stymied on both solutions. I don't have iTunes for OS-9, for starters.

Then I followed your link and downloaded "eject key" from the Griffin site, but when I tried to open it with Stuffit in OS-9 (Stuffit 7) I got the message "Expander requires CarbonLib 1.6.0 or later." I don't know what a CarbonLib is, so that's out. I went back into OS-X and tried to fire up Stuffit 9 that I found in the Applications folder, but double-clicking on the app's icon does absolutely nothing; it won't launch. I tried dropping the .sit on the DropStuff icon but that does nothing either. So, I can't unstuff the .sit to get the "eject key" out in either OS.

Seems like something or somebody doesn't want me to be able to open that DVD drawer in 9.

But thanks for trying to help me.

Tom
