I am running 10.2.8 with mail 1.2.5 (v533) on a beige G4. Just today
the following message popped up in my junk folder:
The message from <Unknown sender> concerning “<Unknown subject>” has
not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account
online in order to download it.
The From and Subject in the list view of the mail box is blank, and
when I view the message there is no header at all, even when I select
show all headers. Also, the content does not change if I select Show
Raw Source. I have also selected all text and pasted it into a new
textedit document and nothing new shows up. All my mailboxes are pop
and are Online.
I have seen 3-4 of these today, and this is the first time I have seen
this. It has possibly corrupted my junk mail box (or it may be
coincidence. I lost some messages in the Junk mailbox today (I leave
mail there and it is not set to autodelete) that showed up in my
regular inbox after I rebuilt all my mailboxes.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
BTW, I did a google search for the message and got 1 hit (Hurray!!! a
googlewhack winner) and it mentioned an ownership problem with the
mailbox, but this message showed up after running MacJanitor and
Cocktail and restarting.
