spam/virus attempts. Possibly just a check to see if it's a live

The problem is that because they have malformed headers, your mail
program can't properly download them and delete them from the server.
I have rebuilt the junk mailbox a couple of times to no avail.
Right. It won't go away because it's still on the server.
You'll need to get something like Mail Siphon (shareware avail. at
versiontracker.com) which will allow you to log in to the server and
delete it from there.
