O.K. Gory details;
Installed from 10.2 imac disks. NO XPostFacto.
Was finally able to run through installation WITHOUT unwanted
language packages being installed. (erased partition.)
( IF there is any evidence of a Foreign language ever having been
installed, the installer will re-install IN SPITE of choices made
in the 'custom install' section.)
Combined Updates 10.2.6 & 10.2.8 installed. Security updates thru
4-8-05 installed.
I was able to locate and update the 'new' installation with the
'old' 'Bookmarks', 'Address Book', & 'Mail' files. So I'm back in
business. (With a FIRM commitment to keep a current set of 'data
backups' --- Like I keep telling others they should be doing.)
But, one question, where is the 'Trash' file kept. I want to try
retrieving some things from the CCC copy of the 'old' disk.
That is an invisible folder called .Trash (note leading dot) at the
root of your home folder. You can get there by using the Go to Folder
command in finder.
