That won't work. Mac disk images are only readable on a Mac. There
are memory sticks that incorporate security features, <http://
tinyurl.com/9fj4s> which may work. (I'm not sure about Mac support)
You can encrypt files in a dual platform manner with GPG, but that
requires GPG be installed. <http://www.gnupg.org/>
Best idea with them is to keep them physically secure, though.

Yes, I suspect this is so re cross platform, this PC I have on '98 is
dicky at the best of times opening usb sticks and simply would not
open the one I am experimenting with, even though the disk image is
only one file on the stick, maybe it confuses ithe poor dear thing.
PCs are easily confused.
It is because the physical security cannot be guaranteed that I seek
a solution. I am not going to make like a drug courier and use
condoms... but I do need to carry it about to continue work where I
might travel and use other computers, almost always PCs.
I will look at this GPG...
