How many years was USB on the mainboard of PCs and not even pretended to be supported by Win98? Apple going to all-USB seemed like a big shot in the arm for the widespread adoption of USB, finally.
On my image acquisitions back in the day, workstations, even with Win98SE, I called USB short for "Unuseable Serial Bus". You could not even reliably hook up a mouse.
