Hi.

XBench and GeekBench offer machine comparisons so you can see the added power 
you would get from upping the RAM or changing the hard drive.

In terms of overclocking, the B&W G3, is one of the easiest computers to 
overclock with no soldering required, only a few jumpers. Ten minutes and your 
machine could be 50-100mhz faster.

I never understood the barriers to overclocking Mac hardware hacks.  A
long tradition on other platforms.
This year I have read of only one guy willing to take soldering iron
in hand for a Mac.

Puzzling. Wish I knew more about electronics, as I would be trying to
win that CPU magazine monthly contest with a Mac box! Just to show it
was possible.  There are sites for Mac cosmetic hacks. But the
communitie seems to think the default hardware cannot be taken any
further.
