I agree with all of that. At one time I read an interview with a top Google tech guy. He said they had studied this with large samples of drives from the major manufacturers and found one company whose product quality was better that the rest of the industry. He would not release the name, because Google considered that information to be part of their competitive advantage. I would like to see the real data from that study. But, for it to be useful, I suppose you would need ongoing access to it, because as drive lines change, the results may shift from brand to brand. A good backup strategy for your important data is important. Keep everything in at least 3 places all the time and you'll be OK. Good luck, Ralph
