If the six black screen boots are really booting (can you hear the HDs), then there should be a System log produced each time. Perhaps opening Console and looking back at the logs to see what's happening could help? You might run a utility like Onyx or AppleJack that can clear the cache files, it can help startup issues. If it's a hardware issue, I'd think this may be a power supply issue? You've got that Mac pretty loaded with stuff that uses power. Also, before hold the Power button to shutdown, you might try pressing is once (or use one on the keyboard if your keyboard has a Power button) and then hit the Return key to see if it can shutdown normally, which is better for the System. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
