As far as 'Software Update' is concerned, the little one.

IF you are wanting to keep the 'Combo Update' for future possible  
use, then the BIG, 600MB+ Combo Package is the way to go.

They should leave you in the same place---- 10.5.4 updated to 10.5.5  
--- The advantage of the 'Combo Update Package' is that it should  
work starting with any 10.5.x installation. [Unless things have  
changed since 10.4 days]
