On my PCI Graphics under Tiger 10.4.11 with 512MB RAM ... and I'm using the 4 partition scheme: OS X Tiger, Classic OS 9.1, Apps, Docs.
I've retained my Apps and Docs partitions from previous installations, and have done a direct Mac OS X Install of Tiger onto an erased partition that use to contain Panther, and a Migration, and the end result is all my partitions show up as You can: Read & Write Owner: System Access: Read & Write Group: admin Access: Read & Write Others: Read Only I don't think this is correct for a single account owner to begin operations as usual. If my Short Name was "shortname", should I go and change all my folders and files on all non-OS X and Classic OS 9.1 partitions to You can: Read & Write Owner: shortname Access: Read & Write Group: admin Access: Read & Write Others: Read Only using something like BatChmod (if it works under Tiger)? I'm having trouble using CCC 3.1.2 ... getting hangs and when I abort, the partitions can no longer be Unmounted for Verify. I can reboot and fix the partitions (I think), but would altering the Permissions be a place to start? While doing a Verify, it asks for my administrative password for I believe the Classic, Apps and Docs (once for all 3). On a different note ... Could Spotlight be interfering with CCC 3.1.2 running properly? It is Indexing the partitions I'm also trying to make a CCC of and Indexes the one I'm copying to ... I might also be having a problem with aged FW port(s) on my newly acquired PCI Graphics. I'm going to try and switch to my external FW drive's USB port to see if that clears up a connectivity issue: I got a kernal panic which may have had something to do with a bad write to the FW drive. This is the computer I recently dismantled for cleaning ... and feel pretty sure its correctly back together again ... pretty sure. Also took out 2 sticks of non PC133 memory leaving 2 PC133 Crucials at 256 each. The others were 128 and 64 of PC100. I had indications that memory might be bad from Xbench sometimes aborting, spinning beach balls ... also suspect a possibly failing hard drive ... Yikes! Oh BTW ... is the CUDA button one of 2 near the battery in the PCI Graphics? or does the PCI Graphics not have a CUDA button? What are they for if not CUDA? Couldn't find any info on the topic.
