I have developed a Shut Down problem ... off my CCC 3.1.2 partition
containing Acoustic Piano Tiger (10.4.11), my PCI Graphics won't shut
down. This is the clone of the external drive's backup, and runs off
my Sonnet ATA/100 PCI controller.

If I switch to another partition containing another version of Tiger
(mobo connected one), I can shut down. So its probably something with
the OS on the ATA/100 connected one.

Things I've been doing / noticed while on the ATA/100 Tiger partition:

* dragging external hard disk volumes to Eject them, and changing
FW ports, and mounting them. I was running various speed tests using
Xbench 3 to test FW and USB2 ports on the Adaptec AUA-3020A and my
onboard FW ports.

*   re-installed Kensington MW 3, as I noticed upon (apple/squiggly)-
v boot, there's something not being satisfied regarding one of
Kensingtons kext's (something called "Virtual Mouse").

*   Another (apple/squiggly)-v boot: I get "Adaptec78xxxSCSI" not
being satisfied ... I don't have any Adaptec SCSI cards installed. I
do have the Adaptec AUA-3020A USB2/FW PCI card installed, and a
Sonnet (Firmtek) ATA/100. Firmtek is satisfied just before the
Adaptec SCSI thing rears it head.

And

* I ran Xpostfacto 4 so that I could boot from an external FW
drive, using the onboard Tiger partition as my Helper. The external
drive Tiger is a clone of the one I'm trying to shut down ... and the
one I'm trying to shut down resides on a drive off the ATA/100
controller.

I was going to drag some plist files to the Trash, but cannot
remember which ones might be effective ... if this is a route to try.

I re-connected all drives I've been testing and/or cloning to/
from ... thinking maybe my OS got mixed up, and is waiting for one of
them ... to no avail.

Any ideas?
