1) You're booting that often?

2) Suppressing the BONG is, IMO, just NOT a good idea.  That bong 
indicates that the hardware self-test passed.  If you suppress it, 
then you won't hear any of the error chimes either -- so you'll have 
no clue that things are dying.  You'll just happily sit there and 
corrupt your HD etc.
