I decided to try the Rosewill 10/100/1000 RC-400 from Newegg for my
Quicksilver Dual 1GHz ... and retire the Airlink3026 USB2 WLAN to my
EverReady PowerMac 8500 with G4/450, that already has USB 2
connectivity (Sonnet Trio PCI card). That machine, although legacy,
runs my scanners and they need to be additionally protected by
wireless-ethernet-connectivity ... although whenever possible, I
unplug everything when infrequent electrical storms approach ... I'm
also running Tiger 10.4.11 on it via XPostfacto 4.

Trusting the shared knowledge of xlr8yourmac folks, the Rosewill's
Realtek 8169 chipset should function under 10.5.5.

I'll report back in 3 "free" UPS Day's time.
