Just wanted to follow up and report my QS with flaky battery Logitech USB KB & Mouse removed from the building, continues to flow without kp-ing under 10.5.6. I'm thrilled. OS X 10.5.6 is working on my QS 2002 Native PPC G4 Dual 1GHz. I did manage to create a kp, by leaving my USB/MIDI Piano / Keyboard on when I attempted to go from Desktop to Login Window and "Back" to wherever that leads one. I wanted to test Restart from the Login Window, but with the USB device on, I suspect its driver left the 10.5.6 turnpike, causing the kp. Its a Yamaha motif es8, which requires a USB-MIDI driver that hasn't been updated since Feb 2008 (fairly recent, respectfully, but its "for 10.5.4"). The best procedure for its use is: Startup the Mac > Turn on the USB/MIDI KB > Make some Noise > Turn Off the USB/MIDI KB > Shutdown the Mac. This has pretty much always been the best procedure for USB/MIDI IMO ... although it really shouldn't matter. Fairly certain my issues were caused by the flaky batteries in the KB and Mouse and on occasion, the added "flakyness" of the Yamaha USB/ MIDI connected KB being left on at Login Window Hopping / Shutdown. Simply thrilled again with My Apple Mac.
