Yes it has been a long thread (LOL) ... that's why I tried to start
over again, with 10.5.6.

Things seem to be partially running ... except this morning, first
login was long with a lengthy blue screen that resolved into my Login
window (I have disabled auto login).

My hardware:

QS 2002 Native G4 Dual 1GHz
512MB RAM (1 stick tested using Memtest (via Applejack) in Single
User Mode in each of 3 slots)
OS X 10.5.6

Slot 1 ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Mac Edition from OWC)
Slot 2 empty
Slot 3 M-Audio 2496 audio card "officially supported by M-Audio"
under 10.5.5 (although their Uninstaller officially won't work)
Slot 4 Sonnet Tango FW400/USB1.1
Slot 5 Rosewill 10/100/1000 NIC

Following USB devices, some requiring their own drivers connected:

Apple USB KB and Mouse (hardwired)
Logitech Wireless KB and Mouse (always on, sometimes battery in mouse
has been drained (needs external recharging, antennae base (no longer
charges mouse) plugged into mobo USB)
Yamaha motif es8 digital piano KB (mostly Off at Startup, has USB-
MIDI driver installed)

Following FW devices (usually off):

OWC Elite 911 Bridge USB/FW external HD with 750GB Seagate ATA drive
Verbatum CD/RW External FW/USB2 case
Seagate 80GB HD External FW case

Other factors:

File Sharing turned on, and might seek out an ethernet connected
Yikes! Mac named "Acoustic Piano Mac", usually on when I turn on the
"Moonstone Art Studio ..." Mac.
Remote Login is on, as I use it to Network Backup using CCC 3.1.3
from my Yikes! to the QS.

I was able to access the system log file to save the most current ASP
output. (Could send it to someone offlist if they feel up to taking a
look).

To tell you the truth, I cannot remember exactly what happened with
the initial startup this morning, but I believe this is what would be
found in the current system log (1-2-3-4):

December 16:

1. First startup, after Off (not unplugged) all night, I think it
went to a point and kp-d
2. Then on "little button below the power button" restart, took a
long time to come up, but after a lengthy blue screen, resolved into
my Login Window. I then did a Time Machine backup, which ran
successfully; then, created an ASP report, which also ran
successfully (having kp-d before in other startups, when it got to
the saving of the system logs).
3. Safe Boot restart took a long time to reach Login Window, Blue
Screen then went quick to resolve to Desktop.
4. Restart, not so long to reach Login Window, but lengthy Blue
Screen returned, then resolved to Desktop. I noted the M-Audio Delta
2496 driver did not load during this restart. Another Restart would
probably cause it to load.

After 1-4 above, successfully created a current ASP Report file name
is: moonstone-art-studios-power-mac-g4After10.5.6_1-4.spx

I know ... long filename ... long response ... long thread ...

I'm calling it persistence ... some might call it OCD.

Any comments?
