Thanks Bruce, I've already mentioned new user accounts, Stuffit, and
Expose, along with Adobe and Norton.  Also suggested doing the cron
jobs and checking Mighty Mouse settings.  The first poster on the user
group's list says there were no new installs prior to the onset of the
problem and she had checked Apple forums.

At this point, I'll have to pass this thread on to the two people with
the problem and wait for more feedback or let them come directly to
the list.

I take it that nobody here has direct experience with this particular
Finder phenomena in Tiger 10.4.11 with a ready-made solution.

Hmmm, I assume Dan is tied up with the SuperBowl preliminaries.  I
myself just finished watching the Washington Capitals win their their
second straight matinee game in two days.
