Too bad...back in the day it was an amazing example of how to do it  
right. The first Windows version of Stuffit Expander was revelatory: a  
Mac application ported to Windows That Just Worked. Proof that it  
wasn't just Windows that made Windows suxrox, it was the programmers,  
too.

Apparently the Windows programmers eventually won :-(

The last time we ran into an intractable Stuffit issue on one of these  
lists, I found an open source .sit (but not .sitx, which is  
proprietary), UnArchiver <http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html>
