I've used gparted before on external disks to manipulate HFS+ partitions, so it *might* work with George's disk. However, I'm not sure if gparted can speaky GPT or not. I believe the PowerPC partitioning scheme is known as Apple Partition Map (or maybe Table?) I can remember playing with pdisk on my old Starmax...
