That worked. Finally!

For whatever reason, I couldn't get a good download of Webkit. It
kept failing to verify. I trashed all the attempted .dmg files, went
ahead and ran a few things in Onyx (repair disk permissions, run the
daily script and rebuilt launch services database), then restarted
the computer. Got a good download. I started Safari, then Mail,
then clicked a link in an e-mail-- it started WebKit. I checked the
preferences, and it somehow set the default browser back to WebKit.
(Does merely copying WebKit into the Applications folder do this?) I
just quit Safari, started WebKit and then hit a few links in e-mail--
all opened in just one instance of it. Hooray!

I'll see if that corrected the invisible text thing in Mail also. It
was intermittent anyway. At first glance I think it may have taken
care of it.

Many thanks!
