Assuming that you already have a backup of your valuable files I'd just 
reinstall Tiger from the installation CDs/DVD and use the upgrade option 
where all installed applications and files are preserved. This should get you 
a working installation and once again you *could* start an update marathon. 
But this time do one by one so you will be able to identify the one update 
that brakes things for you.

I know this solution is a time consuming one, but maybe someone knows a better 
solution.
