I've filed several bug reports on it, via ADC. I've gotten a number of replies from Apple regarding it. Went thru the standard hoops, where they stupidly ask you to repeat the information in the original submission. Then nothing for a few months. Then they ask you to repeat the information provided in previous replies Then nothing for a few months. Then they admit they reproduced it. And that's it - release after release it continues. Panther, Tiger, and Leopard. On both ppc and x86 hardware. Even on fresh installations. >I've run into that hang a few times and all I've ever had to do was >to reset the computer. Depends on where the cache cleaning and rebuild tasks failed. If the cache was cleared fully, then just hitting the reset/reboot button should restart the rebuild. Otherwise, a step (such as entering Safe Mode) is required to re-do the cleaning. Really, it's pretty stupid that this problem exists. The mechanism in Safe Mode is able to do it right, as are apps such as OnyX.... - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
